If you’ve ever bought a book because you wanted to craft with it or held onto a book because you thought it would be fun to make something with the pages, this collection of book page crafts is for you.
Book Page DIY Bookmarks
These little bookmarks were made with words and images from a children’s dictionary. Dictionaries and other reference books are great to make book page crafts from because there are tons of them available at thrift stores if you don’t already have one. You can of course use any book you have on hand, too.
I picked out reading related words to use for my bookmarks, as well as some cute illustrations from the margins. You can use images from other sources, or use stamps, draw on the page or whatever you like to embellish it.
They were also laminated but you can reinforce yours with shelf liner or tape.
Envelopes Made from Book Pages
This is an idea I’ve seen again and again on Pinterest through the years, and this version from Hearth & Vine is a good one. You can use one or two pages depending on the size you want your envelope to be, and there are ideas here for embellishments as well.
I like the little closures she added and think these would be really cute in a scrapbook or art journal, our you could use them to give a small gift.

Book Page Flowers
Anything you can make by folding or cutting other kinds of paper you can make as a book page craft, of course, and one genre that’s particularly fun is making book page flowers.
I love these roses from Welcome to Nana’s, which she did with music sheets but would also be cure with dictionary pages or really any kind of book. They’re made by folding and cutting squares of paper that are then glued together to form the flowers.
Sew Many Ways has a tutorial for flowers that she says look like poinsettias but they look like a tropical flower to me. You can use them in lots of different ways.
I also love these ones that look like daisies from DIY Joy. They’re so easy and happy. Or make a giant dahlia flower wreath like this one from A Wonderful Thought.
Book Page Crafts for Home Decor
These sorts of projects made with book pages can be used in lots of different ways. Make a single item to decorate a gift or make a bunch to make a garland. It’s up to you and how many book pages you’re trying to get through.
These book page feathers from Life is a Party are embellished with glitter to make them even more fun and to give them some holiday flair. You could also paint the tips or dip them in liquid watercolor or diluted food coloring to match your decor.
Country Design Style‘s paper tassels are so cute and I don’t exactly know what I would use them for but I want to make a bunch. Maybe to string on a piece of fabric twine to make a garland for my office?
This paper leaf pattern takes a different approach by using a scroll saw to cut individual leaves from all the pages in a book at the same time! Wild Revival Gardening then used those leaves to make a garland, among other things. If you don’t need as many or don’t have power tools you can cut the leaves out by hand or using a Cricut.
This book page garland from The Shabby Creek Cottage uses a bunch of pages cut into strips, rumpled and sew together to make decor you can use for Christmas or any other time of year.
